چکیده

A large number of calculations of the absorptive partitioning of organic compounds have been made using a number of methods to predict the component vapour pressures, p0, and activity coefficients, γi , required in the calculations. The sensitivities of the predictions in terms of the condensed component masses, volatility, O:C ratio, molar mass and functionality distributions to the choice of p0 and γi models and to the number of components to represent the organic mixture have been systematically compared. The condensed component mass was found to be highly sensitive to the vapour pressure model, and less sensitive to both the activity coefficient model and the number of components used to represent the mixture although the sensitivity to the change in property estimation method increased substantially with increased simplification in the treatment of the organic mixture. This was a general finding and was also clearly evident in terms of the predicted component functionality, O:C ratio, molar mass and volatility distributions of the condensed organic components. Within the limitations of the study, this clearly demonstrates the requirement for more accurate representation of the p0 and γi of the semi-volatile organic proxy components used in simplified models as the degree of simplification increases. This presents an interesting paradox, since such reduction in complexity necessarily leads to divergence from the complex behaviour of real multicomponent atmospheric aerosol. Correspondence to: G. The sensitivity of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) component partitioning to the predictions of component properties – Part 3: Investigation of condensed compounds generated by a near-explicit model of VOC oxidation

Calculations of the absorptive partitioning of secondary organic aerosol components were carried out using a number of methods to estimate vapour pressure and nonideality. The sensitivity of predicted condensed component masses, volatility, O:C ratio, molar mass and functionality distribution to the choice of estimation methods was investigated in mixtures of around 2700 compounds generated by ...

The sensitivity of Secondary Organic Aerosol component partitioning to the predictions of component properties – Part 2: Determination of particle hygroscopicity and its dependence on “apparent” volatility

A large number of calculations of absorptive partitioning of organic compounds have been conducted, making use of several methods to estimate pure component vapour pressures and activity coefficients (p0 and γi). The sensitivities of the predicted particle properties (density, hygroscopicity, CCN activation potential) to the choice of p0 and γi models and to the number of components used to rep...

Modelling of some soil physical quality indicators using hybrid algorithm principal component analysis - artificial neural network

One of the important issues in the analysis of soils is to evaluate their features. In estimation of the hardly available properties, it seems the using of Data mining is appropriate. Therefore, the modelling of some soil quality indicators, using some of the early features of soil which have been proved by some researchers, have been considered. For this purpose, 140 disturbed and 140 undistur...

Choosing the Best Hierarchical Clustering Technique Based on Principal Components Analysis for Suspended Sediment Load Estimation

1- INTRODUCTION The assessment of watershed sediment load is necessary for controling soil erosion and reducing the potential of sediment production. Different estimates of sediment amounts along with the lack of long-term measurements limits the accessibility to reliable data series of erosion rate and sediment yield. Therefore, the observed data of suspended sediment load could be used to ...

A Three-Component 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition Reaction of Azomethine Ylide for Synthesis of New Bis-spiro-oxindolo(pyrrolizidines/pyrrolidines) Derivatives

The development of multicomponent reactions (MCRs) designed to produce elaborate biologically active compounds has become an important area of research in organic, combinatorial, and medicinal chemistry. A comparative study of the synthesis of new bis-spiro-oxindolo(pyrrolizidines/pyrrolidines) ring systems by the cycloaddition of azomethine ylides generated by a decarboxylative route from sarc...
